Privacy Policy
How the Sales Meeting Recorder browser extension handles information, and what it deliberately does not do.
Sales Meeting Recorder (“the extension”) is an internal tool provided by Synology America Inc. to its employees. It is not offered to the general public, and sign-in is restricted to @synologyamerica.com Google Workspace accounts.
What the extension accesses
- Google account identity and calendar. Through Google sign-in, the extension reads your name and email and has read-only access to your Google Calendar, so it can identify you and match meetings to calendar events.
- Salesforce session. It reads the Salesforce session cookie on your own Salesforce host to confirm you are signed in, so meeting summaries are attributed to you.
- Meeting audio and content. On supported meeting sites (Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Webex), the extension coordinates recording and transcription of the meeting you are in.
- Local companion app. It communicates with a companion application running
on your own computer (at
127.0.0.1) that performs the recording and transcription.
How the information is used
Information is used solely to record and transcribe your own sales meetings and to log the resulting summary to Synology America’s Salesforce instance. Recording and transcription are performed on Synology-operated, on-premises systems. Every meeting displays a visible in-meeting notice that the call is being recorded and transcribed before the recording is used.
What the extension does not do
- It does not sell or share your data with third parties.
- It does not use your data for advertising, creditworthiness, or lending.
- It does not track your browsing history or your activity on non-meeting sites.
Data retention
Recordings, transcripts, and summaries are retained within Synology America’s internal systems (its Salesforce instance and on-premises storage) under the company’s standard data-handling practices. The extension itself stores only your settings and current recording state locally in your browser.
